Preview: Cedar Hill Longhorns vs. North Forney Falcons
The Cedar Hill Longhorns will take on the North Forney Falcons at TBD on Friday. Cedar Hill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 141 points over their last three games.
With a playoff game on the line, Cedar Hill rose to the challenge on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-0 win over Weiss on the road. Cedar Hill might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by 31 points or more this season.
Cedar Hill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Edwards, who rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Kymeion Turner did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but North Forney ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Garland by a score of 28-21. Given North Forney's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Garland is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Forney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kellen Sanders, who rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Cedar Hill now has a winning record of 6-5. As for North Forney, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
