High school volleyball: MaxPreps Player of the Year in all 50 states

Each year since 2008, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school volleyball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state.

Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.

Representing the best from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, MaxPreps Player of the Year honorees include state champions, those who stuffed the stat sheet and others who excelled within the team concept. 

Alabama
Had 840 assists for the No. 24 team in the final MaxPreps Top 25. She helped the Yellowjackets to a 47-2 mark and fourth straight state title. The Kansas State commit and has piled up 2,868 assists with her senior year remaining.

Alaska
Just a sophomore, she tallied 30 assists and 13 kills in a five-set win over Colony (Palmer) to set up a winner-take-all, super-set final. On the season, Sila tallied 518 digs, 453 kills, 424 assists, 91 blocks and 42 aces as the Lynx went 39-14-1.



Arizona
The Minnesota commit was the catalyst for a squad that won its second straight Class 6A state title. She had 19 kills in the final match for No. 4 Xavier College Prep and tallied 419 kills for the year while passing the 1,000 mark for her career.

Arkansas
The University of Evansville commit capped her career with a Class 6A tournament MVP and second straight state title. She had match-high 25 kills and 14 digs in the 3-1 win over Fayetteville. She totaled 453 kills for the season.

California
Layli Ostovar, Mater Dei (Santa Ana)
Headed to USC, the senior was dynamite in the Open Division playoffs. She had 14 kills in a SoCal final win over Sierra Canyon and backed it up with 15 in the championship. On the season, Ostovar had 313 kills 306 serve receptions, 212 digs and 24 aces.

Colorado
Headed to Palm Beach Atlantic, Waitman led Valor Christian to a 26-3 mark capped with a Class 5A state title. On the year, Waitman hammered 319 kills (3.5 per set) with 540 serve receptions, 478 digs and 23 aces.

Connecticut
Having topped the 1,000 kills mark early in the postseason, she punctuated her career with 27 kills in a five-set Class L championship victory while earning match MVP honors. She finished the season with 345 kills as RHAM went 31-6-1 and captured the school's 11th title.

Delaware
The junior had 583 assists as the Hillers won their third title in four seasons. Tower Hill went 18-1 this season, didn't lose to an in-state team and didn't drop a set in the state tournament as Lewicki had 39 assists and 22 digs in a championship win over St. Marks.

District of Columbia
Junior setter had 665 assist while quarterbacking her team to a DCSAA title and 22-1 record. Chhum set for five hitters with more than 100 kills each as Georgetown Day didn't drop a set after Sept. 13.

Florida
A Texas A&M commit, she helped the Tigers to their second straights Class 7A title while dropping 384 kills in her junior season. She posted double-digit kills in 21 matches and as Winter Park went 31-1.

Georgia
Just a freshman, she exploded on the scene this season with 613 kills (6.5 per set) while leading the Lions to a state title. In addition to the eye-popping kill total, she led the team with 84 aces while adding 327 serve receptions, 221 digs and 22 blocks as Lovett went 42-3.

Hawaii
Finished her sophomore season with 270 kills while hitting 33 percent as the Raiders earned their first state title since 2022. She had 11 kills in the championship match with Kahuku.

Idaho
Bellamie Beus, Skyview (Nampa)
The Kentucky commit had 27 kills in the state championship match as the Hawks won their fifth title in six seasons. Beus finished with 547 kills while hitting .325 on the year with 342 serve receptions, 244 digs, 45 aces and 40 blocks for 29-6 Skyview.

Illinois
An opposing figure at the net, the 6-foot-5 middle headed to Wisconsin helped the Redwings (39-3) to the Class 4A final for the fourth straight season. She tallied 227 kills while hitting. 430 and added 40 blocks in a state that only plays best-of-three sets.

Indiana
Led the Chargers (37-0) to their second straight Class 4A title over the weekend. She ended the season with 557 kills while hitting. 421. She tallied 336 serve receptions, 219 digs, 62 aces and 47 blocks as Carroll dropped four sets all year.

Iowa
Drake commit led the Wolves to a 38-1 mark with 939 assists in her senior campaign. Northwest grabbed the Class 5A title as she posted 37 assists while winning alongside sister Logan Vogt (353 kills).

Kansas 
The junior and Pitt commit became the school's all-time kills leader as the Jaguars won the Class 6A state. Still with a season to go, she sits at 1,309 career kills after posting 483 kills as Blue Valley West went 35-4 and reached state for the 10th time in 11 seasons.

Kentucky
Keiran was the defensive foundation as the Rockets won their 25th state title. The Auburn commit tallied 445 digs, helping Assumption go 40-4 and finish nationally-ranked.

Louisiana
The Tigers (36-7) again grabbed the Division 1 state title as the Loyola University-New Orleans commit dished up 46 in the championship sweep. Slidell's court quarterback had 1,595 assists this year and ends her four seasons with 4,206.

Maine
The Rhode Island commit helped the Rams to their third straight Class A title with seven kills in the final. She tallied 315 assists for Gorham. Just a junior, she gets a chance to cap her career with a fourth straight title next season.

Maryland
Headed to Middle Tennessee State after one more season with the Lions, she helped her squad to a Class 3A title while finishing unbeaten. On the year, Peltier dished up 669 assists (9.4 per set) and has 1,659 in her three years at Howard.

Massachusetts
Now a two-time all-state selection, the senior helped the Panthers to their first state title after a five-set victory in the Division 1 championship. She had 19 of her 354 season kills in the final. She leaves Franklin with 966 career kills.



Michigan
A Harvard commit, she was 14th in the nation in kills with 727 (6.0 per set) while leading the Black Hawks (43-7-1) to a Division 1 runner-up finish. She tallied 2,193 kills in her career.

Minnesota
Staying home to play for the University of Minnesota, the 6-3 outside had 338 kills this season for the Cougars (24-9) with a Class AAAA consolation title. For her career, she tallied 1, 389 kills, 857 serve receptions, 685 digs and 301 blocks.

Mississippi
Her 534 kills this season helped the Gators to a 34-8 record and a Class 6A title. She finished her career with more than 1,800 career kills.

Missouri
Shaye Witherspoon, Lafayette (Wildwood)
The daughter of former NFL player Will Witherspoon led the Lancers to a Class 5 state title with 636 kills while hitting 40 percent. She had 398 serve receptions, 274 digs 98 blocks and 94 aces as Lafayette went 40-1 and finished No. 20 in the final MaxPreps Top 25.

Montana 
The Kentucky commit posted 280 kills, 53 aces 33 solo blocks for the season as the Raptors went 25-0 with a second straight Class AA title. In the championship match, the 6-2 junior paced Gallatin with 12 kills and seven blocks. 

Nebraska
In a volleyball-crazed state loaded with talent, Boesiger stood above a group of deserving candidates. She dished up 1,220 assists (12.0 per set) as the Titans went 36-1 with a second straight Class B title. Already committed to Nebraska, she had a bounce-back season after missing her sophomore season with an injury. In the final, she had 48 assists.



Nevada
A game-changing talent, the daughter of former NBA player C.J. Watson led the Gaels to their third straight Class 5A title. The Pitt commit, headed there with setter Trinity Thompson, hammered 568 kills this season while ending her time with Gorman tallying 2,195 kills.

New Hampshire 
The senior libero helped the Bobcats to the Division II title and 20-0 record. She paced Oyster River in the championship match with 17 digs and tallied 223 this season. She had 60 aces this season while serving a team high 93 percent. For her career, Young had 763 digs and 219 aces.

New Jersey
The senior helped the Patriots back to the winner's circle with a Group 1 championship, the school's state-best 20th and first since 2014. She hammered 24 kills in the title match as Secaucus went 29-2. Guzman had 287 kills on the year with 266 digs and 32 aces. 

New Mexico
The Kansas State commit guided the Bulldawgs to an unbeaten season and third straight Class 5A title. For the year, she had 571 kills, 290 serve receptions, 221 digs and 51 aces. She dropped 67 kills in a two-match barrage in the state semifinal and final.

New York
She dropped state-best 524 kills on the year as the Panthers five-peated with a Class C crown. The Slippery Rock commit had 19 matches with 15 or more kills for 37-3-2 Portville

North Carolina
The sophomore and MVP of the Class 8A state tournament led the Gators to an unbeaten season capped with the five-set championship win over West Forsyth. In the final, she had 35 assists, 11 kills and 14 digs. For the year, Taylor finished with 

North Dakota
The sophomore helped the Mustangs to a third Class AA title in four season with a record 66 assists in the five-set title victory. On the season, she dished up 909 assists with 330 digs along with 164 kills and 61 aces as Sheyenne went 33-7.

Ohio 
With 302 digs, 199 kills, 34 aces and 26 blocks, the North Carolina State commit was a six-rotation player who had a hand in everything the unbeaten Saints did. Seton went 28-0 and finished No. 19 in the country as Combs finished her career with 1,280 digs and 925 kills.

Oklahoma
The Texas A&M commit helped the Bulldogs (32-5) to a second straight Class 6A title and earned state tournament MVP honors. In the final, she dropped 12 kills and nine blocks and finished the season with 287 kills, 99 blocks and hit .334.

Oregon
Led the Crusaders to the a third straight Class 6A title, and 10th overall, with 26 kills in the five-set final victory. She finished the season with 366 kills and heads to New Mexico State with 809 career kills.

Pennsylvania
The school's all-time kills leader (1,182) led the Rams to a 30-0 mark with a Class 4A championship. On the biggest stage, she pounded a season-high 35 kills in the state title game and finished the season with 516 kills.

Rhode Island
She led the Skippers to a fourth state title with 18 kills and three blocks in the four-set championship match victory. On the season, she had 261 kills and 174 digs while earning state tournament MVP honors for 19-1 North Kingstown.

South Carolina
The Auburn commit led the Cavaliers to a third straight state title as they grabbed the Class AAAAA Division 1 title. She posted 452 kills on the year and ended her time at Dorman with 1,059 kills. In the final, she pounded 28 kills as Dorman won 15-13 in the fifth.

South Dakota
The Tigers grabbed a fourth straight Class AA title as the South Dakota commit dropped 523 kills on the season, including 14 in the final sweep of O'Gorman. A MaxPreps All-American, she finished her career with 1,802 kills.

Tennessee
A three-time state title winner, she capped her career with an MVP showing in the Division II-AA state final. On the season, she had 1,038 assists, 187 digs, 43 blocks and 31 aces. For her career, she tallied 3,307 assists.

Texas
Junior Texas A&M commit drove the Bobcats to the national championship. She quarterbacked the Bobcats to an unbeaten season and second straight state title with 1,459 assists along with 161 kills.

Utah
Headed to Kansas, she helped the Wildcats to their first state title since 1979 after winning the Class 5A crown to cap a 30-1 season. In the final, she hammered 24 kills with 16 digs in the five-set thriller. On the season, she tallied 411 kills with 336 server receptions and 278 digs.

Vermont
Setter led the team to a fifth straight title and a 70-0 mark in her prep career. She tallied 366 assists (7.3 per set) this season for 17-0 Essex while posting 81 assists, 21 digs and seven aces in three postseason matches.

Virginia
A beach volleyball commit for Arizona State, the senior hitter helped the program to its fourth straight Class 4A state title. She blasted 458 kills (4.9 per set) along with 356 serve receptions, 273 digs and 65 aces. She leaves James Wood with a 108-8 record over her four seasons.

Washington
The Oregon commit dropped an astounding 44 kills in the five-set Class 4A final win over Curtis. For the season, she tallied 633 kills as the Vikings went 33-3. She ends her career with 2,351 kills.

West Virginia
A 6-foot-2 sophomore, she helped the Mohigans to their second Class AAAA title in program history. The daughter of University of West Virginia coach Jen Greeny led Morgantown with 357 kills on the season, including a team-high 14 in the championship. 

Wisconsin 
The libero had 498 digs, 461 serve receptions and 133 assists as the Chargers went 38-8 with a Division 1 state title. Headed to the University of Delaware, she had 19 digs in the championship match. 

Wyoming
A future Kansas Jayhawk, she helped the Plainsmen to a 32-4 mark and Class 4A semifinal berth. On the season, Dodd tallied 492 kills (5.2 per set) and finished her prep career with 1,322.
