Soccer Recap: Central Gwinnett Takes a Loss

Central Gwinnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Apalachee Wildcats. Central Gwinnett were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Apalachee apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Central Gwinnett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Apalachee, their record now sits at 4-7-1.

Central Gwinnett and Apalachee could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Central Gwinnett (ranked 313th) will meet Dacula (ranked 32nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Apalachee will take on Morgan County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 144 places (269 vs. 125).
