Soccer Game Preview: Campolindo vs. Ukiah

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Campolindo duke it out with the Ukiah at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday... Campolindo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Campolindo is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Northgate just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Broncos, falling 5-1. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Sara Brockmeier, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ukiah). Their defense stepped up to hand Novato a 10-0 shutout last Friday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Hornets are ranked 1014th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ukiah's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Campolindo, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
