Baseball Game Preview: Mount View Mustangs vs. Old Orchard Beach Seagulls

The Mount View Mustangs will head out to take on the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mount View's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Old Orchard Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mount View is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over Orono on Wednesday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Old Orchard Beach and Waynflete, and Waynflete kept the tradition alive. The Seagulls fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Old Orchard Beach saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Moody, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Old Orchard Beach's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Mount View, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Mount View couldn't quite get it done against Old Orchard Beach in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
