Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. Central Gwinnett

The Mountain View Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Central Gwinnett Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Mountain View and nine for Central Gwinnett.

Last Tuesday, Mountain View came up short against Collins Hill and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Eagles are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, Central Gwinnett fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Buford on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Wolves by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Black Knights have lost by just one goal.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Central Gwinnett, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Mountain View took their win against Central Gwinnett in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
