Basketball Recap: MAST Community Charter Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when MAST Community Charter challenged Sacred Heart Academy on Friday. The MAST Community Charter Panthers had to suffer through a 48-21 loss at the hands of the Sacred Heart Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 396th, while the Lions are ranked 185th).

Lauren Sweeney and Rylie Fitzsimmons certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Sweeney posted eight points, while Fitzsimmons earned six points and 11 boards. Fitzsimmons has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last eight times she's played.

MAST Community Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Sacred Heart Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Coming up, MAST Community Charter will host Bristol at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they will head out to challenge Marple Newtown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marple Newtown will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sacred Heart Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
