Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Phoenix vs. Sterne Dolphins

The Marshall Phoenix will venture away from home to face off against the Sterne Dolphins at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Back in December of 2025, Marshall came up short against Mission and fell 47-36.

Meanwhile, Sterne took a blow against Mission on Wednesday, falling 75-15. The Dolphins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sterne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything came up roses for Marshall against Sterne in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 57-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phoenix since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
