Recap: Derry Trojans vs. Greensburg Salem Golden Lions
The Derry Trojans lost against the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Derry was dealt a 42-12 defeat at the hands of Greensburg Salem. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Derry has scored all season.
Greensburg Salem's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlyn Mankins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Mankins' third in a row with at least ten points. Regan Kerr was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Derry has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Greensburg Salem, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Derry will head out on the road to face off against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Greensburg Salem will take on Lightridge in a holiday battle at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at.
