Football Recap: Carrizozo Comes Up Short

Carrizozo faced Magdalena in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Grizzlies had to suffer through a 38-0 loss at the hands of the Steers. The Grizzlies just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Magdalena's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Prescott Herrera, who picked up 52 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 69 yards on only five carries. Ky Stephens also helped with two scores in total.

Carrizozo's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Magdalena, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Carrizozo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Magdalena, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 40-8 victory against Mountainair on the 1st.
