Softball Recap: D'Evelyn Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, D'Evelyn was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of the Lutheran Lions by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2021.

D'Evelyn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myla Vigil, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

D'Evelyn's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Lutheran, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-4.

Looking ahead, D'Evelyn will take on Mesa Ridge in a tournament on Saturday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
