Softball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Davenport North Wildcats. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in July of 2019.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Davenport North, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-17.

Independence has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Davenport Central on the 28th. As for Davenport North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-5 defeat against West Liberty on the 28th.
