Basketball Game Preview: Valhalla Norsemen vs. Monte Vista Monarchs

The Valhalla Norsemen will square off against the Monte Vista Monarchs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Valhalla is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against West Hills on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Valhalla was outmatched by West Hills and fell 66-36. The loss continues a trend for the Norsemen in their matchups with the Wolf Pack: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by El Cajon Valley 61-22. The Monarchs were down 45-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Valhalla's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Monte Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-22.

Everything came up roses for Valhalla against Monte Vista in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 61-29 win. Will Valhalla repeat their success, or does Monte Vista have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
