Basketball Game Preview: Convent of the Sacred Heart Cubs vs. University Red Devils

Convent of the Sacred Heart hasn't had much luck against University recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Convent of the Sacred Heart Cubs will challenge the University Red Devils at 5:30 p.m.

Convent of the Sacred Heart is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 54-26 defeat at the hands of Marin Academy.

Meanwhile, University entered their tilt with San Domenico on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 47-41 W over the Panthers. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Panthers are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Convent of the Sacred Heart, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Convent of the Sacred Heart was dealt a bruising 63-20 defeat at the hands of University in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Convent of the Sacred Heart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
