Basketball Recap: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Galt Warriors
Make it 18 blowout wins for the Liberty Ranch Hawks this season. They claimed a resounding 60-21 victory over Galt on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-3.
Haley Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 21 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Duryee, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
When it comes to explaining why Galt lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Akayla-Joy Gunter. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points. That was a full 52.4% of Galt's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bricelina Cortez, who scored six points.
Liberty Ranch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Galt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-21.
