Preview: Central Catholic Raiders vs. Enochs Eagles
The Central Catholic Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Enochs Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Central Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Enochs will be coming in after a defeat.
Central Catholic's and Downey's matchup last Tuesday was close at halftime, but Central Catholic turned on the heat in the second half with 26 points. Central Catholic was the clear victor by a 52-28 margin over Downey.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taryn Calderon, who scored 14 points. Allie Abbate was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-36, which was the final score in Enochs' tilt against Hughson on Monday. Enochs has struggled against Hughson recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Enochs had strong showings from Natalie Quinones, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Maya Ramsay, who scored 8 points along with 7 steals. The game was Quinones' third in a row with at least ten points.
Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Enochs, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
