Football Recap: Abington Comes Up Short

Abington had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it four. They were outmatched by the Central Bucks East Patriots and fell 49-7. While losing is never fun, the Galloping Ghosts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Patriots are ranked 75th).

Miles Yockus threw for 106 yards on seven of 18 attempts. Kai Taylor was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.

As for Central Bucks East, their record is now 5-2. They haven't had any issues with Abington recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Leading Central Bucks East to victory were Asher Green and Hunter Pulford. Green rushed for 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries, while Pulford rushed for 57 yards and one TD. Those 82 rushing yards gave Green a new career-high.

Abington has already played their next contest, a 28-14 defeat against Central Bucks South on the 10th. As for Central Bucks East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 41-35 loss against Neshaminy on the 10th.
