Baseball Game Preview: Druid Hills Red Devils vs. Lakeside Vikings

The Druid Hills Red Devils will take on the Lakeside Vikings at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Druid Hills will be strutting in after a win while Lakeside will be coming in after a defeat.

Druid Hills took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against M.L. King by a score of 6-1. The Red Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on River Sherman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Sibly, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

Druid Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Lakeside's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seckinger on Saturday.

Lakeside also got a good showing from Noah Hathaway, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Lakeside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Warren Gage, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

The victory got Druid Hills back to even at 2-2. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Druid Hills beat Lakeside 8-4 in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
