Baseball Recap: Sidney Takes a Loss

After flying high against Indian Lake on Thursday, Sidney came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anna Rockets on Friday. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 12-3 to the Rockets when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sidney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Conley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Sidney has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Anna, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sidney will head out to take on Fort Loramie at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Anna, they will take on St. Henry at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rockets 3.2, the Redskins 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
