Basketball Recap: Superior Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Superior unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 64-60 to the Globe Tigers on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Despite the loss, Superior still got an impressive performance from Ryland Duarte, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Duarte is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Antonio Lopez was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Looking ahead, Superior will head out to square off against Apache Junction at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Globe, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on San Carlos at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
