Football Recap: Emporia Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Emporia's offense. They were dealt a 38-0 loss at the hands of the Washburn Rural Blues on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Blues: they've now lost six in a row.

Emporia's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Washburn Rural, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Emporia will challenge Spring Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Broncos have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Washburn Rural, they will square off against Junction City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
