Baseball Recap: Collins Hill Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Collins Hill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Lanier Longhorns out 6-5. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Hunter Lee made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lee was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Noah Alvarado was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. TJ Wilson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Collins Hill's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lanier, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Collins Hill will face off against Brookwood at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lanier, they will square off against Peach County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
