Basketball Recap: Jordan Dever's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rim of the World over San Gorgonio

Rim of the World was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Gorgonio Spartans. The Fighting Scots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 36-30.

Rim of the World lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan Dever, who posted 14 points. That was a full 42.4% of Rim of the World's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liv Bundra, who had eight points.

San Gorgonio was led to victory by Star Ramos and Grace Sanders. Ramos posted 18 points and five assists, while Sanders earned five points and eight rebounds.

Rim of the World's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for San Gorgonio, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Rim of the World wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-17 defeat against El Modena on the 10th. As for San Gorgonio, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-38 loss against San Bernardino on the 10th.
