Basketball Recap: Greenville Starts Season with Victory at Home

Greenville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They snuck past the Union City Bears with a 39-34 win.

Despite the loss, Union City still got an impressive performance from Ava Greer, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kennady Brenner, who posted seven points and five boards.

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Greenville has already played their next matchup, a 60-51 victory against Cambridge Springs on the 3rd. As for Union City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-45 loss against Seneca on the 4th.
