Mexico won the last time they faced Moberly and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Spartans.
Keerstan Ewing made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alyssa Miller was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Landri Teel, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Mexico's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Moberly, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mexico will challenge Palmyra at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Moberly, they will face off against Fulton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
