Recap: Vista del Lago Eagles vs. Rio Americano Raiders
The Vista del Lago Eagles can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They blew past Rio Americano 68-25 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-15.
Vista del Lago's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Skrzyniarz led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Skrzyniarz hasn't dropped below 15points for ten straight games. Ursula Chen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Rio Americano still got an impressive performance from Katie Ghazanfari, who scored 14 points.
Vista del Lago is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Rio Americano, they bumped their record down to 7-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Vista del Lago will head out on the road to face off against Del Campo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Campo has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. As for Rio Americano, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
