Basketball Game Preview: Mansfield Tigers vs. Canton Warriors

The Mansfield Tigers will take on the Canton Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Mansfield beat Wellsboro 39-32.

Meanwhile, Canton strolled past North Penn-Liberty with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 43-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Canton's win came from a few key players Mansfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cailyn Vannoy, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 18 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Kitchen, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Canton was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Penn-Liberty only racked up five assists.

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Mansfield, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Mansfield against Canton in their previous matchup back in December of 2014, as the team secured a 64-7 victory. In that contest, Mansfield amassed a halftime lead of 42-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
