Basketball Recap: North Star Takes a Loss

North Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs 54-26. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Claysburg-Kimmel found their leader in sophomore Zailee Bush, who went 11 for 22 on her way to 32 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bush has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bella Francona, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards.

North Star's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

North Star wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-10 defeat against Windber on the 23rd. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-34 loss against Tussey Mountain on the 23rd.
