Softball Recap: Southern Boone Beats Jackson for Their Fifth Straight Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Southern Boone ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Jackson Fighting Indians. The Eagles' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Southern Boone got a massive performance out of Gracie Britton, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those RBI were Britton's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Liyah Prince, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southern Boone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Southern Boone's win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Looking ahead, Southern Boone will challenge Lafayette at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson, they will square off against Fort Zumwalt West at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
