Soccer Game Preview: Pioneer vs. Leland

The Pioneer Mustangs will challenge the Leland Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pioneer is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Leigh just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Pioneer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Leigh are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Leland had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They never let the Bruins get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Leland's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Kaylani Ahn and Taytem Condit scored both of Leland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Leland's win bumped their record up to 13-2-2. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-5.
