Platteview took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Freeman, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons on Saturday, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since September 17, 2024.

McKenna Myers was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Elise Raszler was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Platteview has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.5 runs this season. As for Freeman, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Platteview and Freeman will both be playing South Sioux City the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Cardinals at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Trojans will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
