Soccer Game Preview: Pioneer vs. Beyer

Pioneer will challenge Beyer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pioneer managed to keep up with River City until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Pioneer lost 3-0 to River City. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Raiders are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, Beyer's matchup on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand Lathrop a 3-0 shutout.

Pioneer's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three contests. As for Beyer, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
