Basketball Recap: Central Find Success

Central posted their closest victory since January 14, 2025 on Monday. It was close, but they capped 2025 with a 56-54 win over the Bayside Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 65-59 back in November.

Bayside lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kody Grodecky, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Mason Derrickson, who scored 12 points.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Bayside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-55 win against Westwood on the 6th. As for Bayside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-54 loss against Spruce Creek on the 7th.
