Soccer Recap: Escondido Comes Up Short

Escondido lost to Rancho Bernardo back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cougars lost 7-0 to the Broncos. While losing is never fun, Escondido can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1019th, while Rancho Bernardo are ranked 183rd).

Escondido has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-10-3 record this season. As for Rancho Bernardo, they pushed their record up to 11-6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Escondido didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 defeat against Fallbrook on the 6th. As for Rancho Bernardo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Valley Center on the 6th.
