Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tohatchi). They blew past the Crownpoint Eagles 54-6 on Friday. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 42-point advantage.

Tohatchi didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ricky Long, Jeffery Leonard, and DeAndre Rios picked up one apiece.

Tohatchi's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Crownpoint, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Tohatchi will take on Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' defense has only allowed 5.2 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Crownpoint, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Zuni at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
