Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Russellville

Russellville waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past Osage 8-2. That's more bragging rights for Russellville, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

K'Lea Basnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, Karleigh Grayson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Corianna Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Russellville's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Osage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Russellville will face off against Fayette at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Osage, they will square off against Blair Oaks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
