Basketball Game Preview: Moorpark Musketeers vs. Oak Park Eagles

Moorpark is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Oak Park is on a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Moorpark Musketeers will host the Oak Park Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Moorpark took their contest with ease, bagging a 68-12 win over Royal. Given the Musketeers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Highlanders are ranked 1119th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Moorpark can attribute much of their success to Faith Bozman, who went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points, and Sam Olivas, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Maya Urteaga, who posted eight points.

Moorpark was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Oak Park beat Camarillo 57-51 on Friday.

Moorpark has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Oak Park, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
