Football Recap: Halifax Academy Takes a Loss

Halifax Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They were beaten by the Father Lopez Green Wave 54-6. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-6.

As for Father Lopez, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won three contests by 34 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Father Lopez to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylan Demarsh, who rushed for 18 yards and one score, and also caught one TD. Macon Chesley was in the mix too, providing the Green Wave with two touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Halifax Academy will square off against Geneva at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Halifax Academy will be up against Geneva's rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.44 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Father Lopez, they will take on Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Green Wave 14.4, the Bulldogs 5.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
