Basketball Recap: North Hollywood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Chavez on Friday, North Hollywood came back down to earth. The North Hollywood Huskies were beaten by the Verdugo Hills Dons 81-51 on Saturday. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-26.

Verdugo Hills found their leader in sophomore Amiyya Castanos, who went 9 of 15 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castanos has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Olivera, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

North Hollywood dropped their record down to 3-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Verdugo Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Hollywood has already played their next contest (against Monroe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Verdugo Hills has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Grant.
