Baseball Recap: Orchard View Comes Up Short

Orchard View had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-13-2 to make it eight. They lost 11-0 to the Montague Wildcats. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Montague, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Montague's part, Orchard View's batters probably weren't too happy with Eli Petersen, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Petersen has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Levi Auger and Karter Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Auger earned three RBI and one run, while Johnson went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Cole Moss, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Montague beat Orchard View by a score of 16-0 later that day.
