The Elite Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Westlake Charter on the road and fell 68-23. Elite was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.
Elite's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaiya Seeberry, who scored two points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Savannah Barrow, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Lena Tahod continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Westlake Charter, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 steals. Amiliana Moore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Elite has been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season. As for Westlake Charter, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Elite will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fortune Early College presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in California (the Panthers are ranked 577th, while the Eagles are ranked 1289th). As for Westlake Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
