Football Recap: New Lexington Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Tyson Spicer and Paul Stenson

If New Lexington was feeling good fresh off their 45-6 takedown of Crooksville last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sheridan Generals on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging 11.3 points allowed.

Despite the loss, New Lexington had strong showings from Paul Stenson, who rushed for 157 yards and one touchdown, and Tyson Spicer, who picked up 38 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, New Lexington fell to 9-1. As for Sheridan, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

New Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sheridan, they will take on Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
