Recap: Malibu Sharks vs. Fillmore Flashes

The Malibu Sharks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past Fillmore with points to spare, taking the game 34-20. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Malibu also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Casey Ovsiowitz was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 11 points, ten rebounds, and nine blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Fillmore lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aryanne Munoz, who scored six points.

Malibu's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. As for Fillmore, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Nordhoff the next time they take the court. Malibu will head out to face Nordhoff at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Fillmore will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
