Basketball Recap: Clarion-Limestone Takes a Loss

Clarion-Limestone and Bishop Guilfoyle squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Clarion-Limestone had to settle for second. They were dealt a 62-19 loss at the hands of the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Despite the defeat, Clarion-Limestone saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hannah Beggs shot 63% from the field to rack up 12 points. The last time Beggs' field goal percentage was this high was back in December of 2023.

Clarion-Limestone is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-10. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 26-2.

Clarion-Limestone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they will face off against Aquinas Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Guilfoyle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Aquinas Academy likes a good challenge.
