Basketball Recap: Faith Hayes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Turlock Christian over Millennium

It was a Battle of the Birds when Turlock Christian took on Millennium on Saturday. The game between the Turlock Christian Eagles and the Millennium Falcons didn't end well, with the Turlock Christian Eagles falling 44-28. The Eagles have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith Hayes, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 13 points and five boards. Hayes has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Emma Sarmiento was another key player, putting up seven points.

It was another big night for Sarah Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds for Millennium. That makes it three consecutive games in which Digiallonardo has scored at least a third of Millennium's points. Another player making a difference was Gianna Negrete, who posted 14 points in addition to four steals and four blocks.

Turlock Christian's record is now 9-11. As for Millennium, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Turlock Christian has already played their next matchup (against River Islands), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Millennium has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Venture Academy.
