Football Game Preview: Anoka Tornadoes vs. Champlin Park Rebels

The Anoka Tornadoes will venture away from home to take on the Champlin Park Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Anoka is looking for their season's first win.

Anoka is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 62-61 to Andover. The Tornadoes were up 42-21 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Anoka got top-tier performance from Brody Rush, who rushed for 300 yards and five scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Rush is now averaging an impressive 103.2 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Blake Sieben, who threw for 331 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt.

Meanwhile, Champlin Park's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Blaine with a 28-24 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Champlin Park's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Anoka, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Anoka beat Champlin Park 25-13 in their previous matchup back in August of 2024. Will the Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
