Basketball Game Preview: Hanford Bullpups vs. Morro Bay Pirates

The Hanford Bullpups will square off against the Morro Bay Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Morro Bay took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hanford, who comes in off a win.

Hanford is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lemoore on Thursday, sneaking past 52-49. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bullpups as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Morro Bay was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 55-50 to Orcutt Academy. The Pirates have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Hanford's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-13. As for Morro Bay, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Hanford skirted past Morro Bay 31-28 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Hanford repeat their success, or does Morro Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
