Softball Game Preview: Centennial Knights vs. Westminster Wildcats

Centennial is 0-4 against Westminster since September of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Centennial's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Westminster's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Centennial's offense. They came up short against Cambridge on Tuesday, falling 11-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Knights, who until this contest were averaging 3.75 runs allowed.

Meanwhile, Westminster put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over Woodward Academy. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Westminster's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Centennial has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Westminster struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
