Basketball Preview: Forest City Foresters vs. Mid Valley Spartans
Forest City has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mid Valley Spartans at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Back in January, Forest City was beaten by the Eagles 57-8.
Meanwhile, Mid Valley beat the Crusaders 49-38 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mid Valley.
Mid Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Krista Cortazar out in front who scored nine points along with six steals. Cortazar has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chiara Zavislak, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Forest City's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mid Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Forest City was taken down by the Spartans 52-12 when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cortazar, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Now that Forest City knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
