Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Notre Dame lost against Pinewood back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Notre Dame Regents were outmatched by the Pinewood Panthers and fell 69-27. The contest marked the Regents' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pinewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sloane Parenti, who posted eight points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Parenti continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Katherine Garr was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Notre Dame's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Pinewood, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will host Priory on Tuesday. As for Pinewood, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pinewood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully San Ramon Valley likes a good challenge.
